some to port them...thats whats gonna make it worth it.

you can buy porting profiles for those heads...about 15$ a set.

but i wouldnt do it on those heads first. get one from a junk yard that isnt good or a real cheap one and practice first. also, if you know someone with a good bandsaw, cut the head down the middle so you can see just how deep you can go without getting into the waterjacket.

LOL, that's funny.

When I bought the heads, the website said springs good to .515, I called Bob 2 weeks ago to ask about running a .512 lift cam and he said is should work but check for coil bind.

I asked Marty at KRC and he said that was weird as the stock springs could handle .512 lift and they run 210X cams on stock heads all the time. Now he's telling you .510 lift. hmmm... something's fishy.

I might just ask Marty for a set of springs with my cam, as I don't want to be fooling around with maxing out lift and finding out how catastrophic coil bind can be.

stock will go around .450 but if you do a valve job that will actualy reduce the true lift versus the labled lift. that just means that you can, and would want to, run a higher cam lobe lift. i.e. if your cam says .515 and you have done a valve job, then you will probably only actually get around .495...depending on how much is ground.
