Default Transmission Blues...

Hey everyone, I've been having some transmission issues lately.

It was slipping / jumping when I'm accelerating or pressing the gas up or down a hill and sometimes on flat ground. This has happened at a wide variety of speeds. It's like it's shifting hard multiple times for no apparent reason. This only has happened when I am in overdrive. It has never happened to me with the overdrive turned off (Light On).

So, I took it to the transmission shop. Got it rebuilt and some parts replaced for about 1100 dollars. Picked it up a few days later, and before I made it home, it did it again. Switched it back off overdrive, and I made it home just fine.

Alright, what is it? Bad parts, something else? Thanks guys. Anything you've got would be awesome.

Anybody??

It's also going back to the shop since it has a warranty for the transmission rebuild.

Was the converter and/or overdrive solenoid one of the part(s) replaced?

It was a problem with the overdrive. I took it back to the shop today. Drove all around Phoenix without it doing anything that I mentioned. I also heard a noise coming from the transmission, it was rubbing, and they fixed it for free. They said that most likely the engine is misfiring. We tried so hard to get it to do it for us.

They gave me a quote for the plenum job for $400, and they would put on all the tuneup parts I buy for free.

Oh, and on the drive back, the truck did the original problem twice (still way less than before). Other than that, it drove perfectly.

What do you guys think?
