My truck was Arnold's
I decided to get the carfax on my truck. I found out that it was originally a california truck and passed emissions several times. There were 29 records many of which were me running into ppl. What difference does it make that the truck was originally a CA model? I feel like it's not as good somehow, and that explains the weird exhaust system. It's a 1996 2500 v10
Not as good how?
The only difference bewteen a CA model and a 49-state model is the addition of some extra emissions equipment to meet the lower regulations we have here. The trucks roll off the same assembly line and use the same parts.
well my truck i believe is a california truck, even though it was bought in oregron from the originial owner. as far as the exhaust system goes, i had 3 cats, two precats directly behind the exhaust manifolds and a larger cat where both sides of the exhaust came into one. i got rid of the big cat and ran duals off of the smaller cats.
Same truck more a less. The only difference with the Cali models is some pain in the *** emissions **** that you can get rid of if you don't live there anymore. Extra catalytic converters, and oxygen sensors that you can ditch, and then get your PCM re-flashed to compensate for the missing oxygen sensors.
It only has one catalytic converter.... and I can't find one to replace it because all the ones I find are for the other model trucks. The o2 sensors are a pain in the butt too, i don't know what to do with them, I want them gone, because I want to replace the cat with a y pipe. Where do I get the PCM reflashed?
