Default Anyone cut and insert Flowmaster into stock exhaust?

I would love to thrown in an entire cat back system. But the wallet is getting thin. Anyone cut out the stock muffler and insert a Flowmaster 40 or 50? What length flowmaster and what were the inlet/outlets (dia and offsets)?

Or did you have to get some new pipe to throw in there?

Yeh, the muffler's themselves are very affordable. But when you start buying their exhaust systems with the bent pipe, the price increases 4-fold.

I put a 40 into a 99 tacome and the local midas shop (buddy worked there) put a 75-degree drop pipe on it. Made it sound really good....but...that was a 3.6L V6. I fear that would just be too loud for a 5.9L V8.

The stock muffler is a pretty long "garbage can." Just want to get some measurements and pipe diameters from those who have "clamped-in" a 40 or 50 series into the stock tailpipe.

should be a 2.5 inch pipe, buy the muffler and some spare pipe so you have something to work with, its real easy
