Default header install, egr block-off

Hey all, new to the forum and the dodge ram family. Just picked up my first truck, a '95 5.9l ram for a very good price. Not the cummins I wanted but it'll do it's mostly stock but I just bought some shorty headers and have a question on the install. On the factory passenger side manifold, I noticed an egr line routed into it, but there's no place for it on my new header. My question is: can I just saws-all the egr tube and thread-lock a bolt into it? If there's a better way to approach it, feel free to chime in.

Also, is my ram ineligible for a tuner chip? That would really bite if I missed the curve by a year...

Thanks in advance for the help!

mine is also a 95, for the egr, i just made a plate and bolted it to the tube instead of removing it or chopping it up, i used to get a CEL every great once in awhile, but not anymore....... as far as chips, yeah, you kinda missed it, theres a JET chip, but peeps say they suck bad, theres B&G flash, havent heard much about them and then theres mopar performance pcm.......no tuners available like with OBDII

thanks for the response guys. Yea, I heard the same thing about the JET, havent heard about the B&G so Ill look into it. Ideally, Id like to just delete the egr but it looks like it'd be a PITA with engine in chassis. Anybody have any first-hand experience with that?

yea you need that line connected to something, i cut mine when i did the plenum gasket, and when i started it, MAJOR exhust leak. cemented her up, sounds perfect now. So you need to get that pipe covered, and in there someway like stated above
