I want the 2001 style clear fog lights in my 98. My 98 truck is the base V6 1500. I want the OEM fog light in my newly repaint gloss black (w/ clear coat) bumper.

I gather some wiring is different.

Game plan: So, my guess is I use the 98 fog light switch (headlight and fog light switch combined unit). Then I use the 98 fog light wiring/kit, but swap in 2001 clear lights, instead of the 98 design? Anyone, think this won't work, or better yet...tell me what to do.

Someone, must have figured out a way to do this by now?

 

I thought the switch for the foglights was in the passenger airbag switch until 1999 models?

 

Just build your own harness, and you can use the '98 switch. Dont screw with the factory wiring. You can build a new harness with a relay for <$30 and it will be much brighter than the factory. The '99-01 foglights will fit in any 94-01 Ram (except 99-01 Sports).
