I recently installed the DAYSTAR 1.5" leveling kit on my '96 2WD. While I'm pleased with the looks, I'm not impressed with the change in ride quality (much harsher).
So I was wondering if I could put a body lift on my truck that would a) lift the truck 3" and b) level the front end as well. Then I could remove the polyurethane donuts from DAYSTAR and return to a better ride.
Nope, its either or. The Daystar kit raises the front suspension to match the factory rear height. So just a body lift with no leveling will still have the rake, just 3 inches higher. One alternative would be install 2 inch drop shackles, then install the body lift. The rake look the Rams' have is suspension, not in the body.
the only reason i have the shackles on back, is that i originally planned on lowering it, after i get my front lift springs on, i will then decide if i want the back put back to stock or go with a prerunner look.....even with the 2" drop in the rear, my front is still about 2" lower
yeah, people tell others that stock shocks are good for 2" lift, but i think you need longer ones anyway, esp. if yours are the same ones that rolled off the assembly line
