If you say the price is right for you, go for it.
Putting some work in it is a given, same can be said of most used vehicles.

Save yourself a BIG A$$ headache and find another one. At 100,000 miles, these truck have a good amount of problems. I don't even wanna imagine what kind of problems will occur immediately AFTER you buy the truck(it always happens that way). Can you imagine how deteriorated the wires and insulation are. don't just walk away, RUN!!!

OK, I still can't get a hold of the guy, but he's asking $3,000 for it.

He was a Grain salesman, grain and fertilizer type stuff, I dunno, I live in South Dakota, and he traveled to all the farms and ranches. I dont know much about that stuff, the bed is pretty well beat up inside, exterior is 8 out of 10.

I was hoping to offer him about 2k for it.

with that many miles (assuming that the engine hasn't been rebuilt) then i wouldn't give more than 800$ for it.

I think you should be able to get at least $500 off of what he's asking. Best of luck though!!!

I agree 3k is too high, unless perhaps he can provide rebuild documentation.
It don't hurt to make an offer, tho some people are better at whittling down prices than others.
