Default Truck won't start after heater core replacement

So i just finished changeing the heater core...what a job...
Now it wont turn on.

When I put the key in with the door open it chimes but nothing else comes on and it wont start.

The overhead ligh comes on and off with the door and I can use the 4 way flashers but nothing else is working.

I had to remove the entire dash to do the heater core, i am wondering if I just forgot to plug something back in.

I took the steering colum apart again and elerything is pluged in to it....any ideas?

Yeah, try using more descriptive thread titles.

Sounds like you disconnected something while you had the dash apart.

definitely forgot to plug something in. unplug and re-seat all the wires on the steering column just to be sure that they are all plugged in correctly.

Make sure it's in Park. Did you remove the little cable for the shift indicator when you dropped or removed the column.

Sorry to ask, when did you remove the dash have you protected the wires that go to the multiplex connector on the driver's side ? You may had crushed the wires when you rotated the dash forward to remove it. I know it is a lot of wire but you may be able to see the damage, if any on that wiring, and the wires that goes up to the steering column. Could you please share your steps with us ?
Thank you.

Double check all the wires/connections and grounds. On mine there where two spots if i recall where there is a ground connection. At the column mount bolts and the lower dash bolt on the passenger side.

Yes, it's an old thread. I did a heater core on my Dakota a few weeks ago. It didn't want to start and I found a plug that looked new and I couldn't find where it went. It plugged into the brake pedal for the brake light switch. A lot goes through that connector. The switch was bad so I put a new one in and when everything was plugged in, it fired right up. Either something is unplugged or you left a ground unconnected.
