It figures! Sucks you have to keep installing/re-installing.

BTW, I never answered the original question! My brake pedal feels like rubber with some grooves in it.

Hey ZMAN, so what brand, in your opinion, makes good parts? I'm thinking about buying a doorman Master cylinder from summit. Anyone else have a favorite brand. If so, why do you like them?

when I installed the reman master cylinder, it felt firm. But since that one was defective (crappy quality control A-1 cardone) I had to install my old one back. That one feels soft. I definitely feel the difference. I'm thinking of ordering a new Dorman MC from summit. What do you guys think? here's the link. Oh and for those of you that are replacing you MC, if you have a 1500, make sure that you get one with a inch and one quarter bore. Not the inch and one eighth...more braking power!!!

The choices are hard because Cardone makes them for other companies, but for hydraulics, I use Wagner or new from the dealer, for whatever vehicle I happen to be working on. And Raybestos for pads, shoes and hardware.

are you so sure it's the BMC and not a rubber line that's shot and causing soft brakes?

as far as I can tell, it's the MC. I had someone hold the brakes while I took a look at the front brake hoses. they didn't expand when the brakes were applied. Besides, when I had the new MC on for that brief moment, it felt a lot better.

mine feels like a brake pedal and the throttle pedal feels like a throttle pedal, but that one's more fun to punch to the floor

Well 2 and a half years later, I found out why my brakes pulsed towards the end of pressing them. IT WAS MY BLOWN PLENUM GASKET!!! It would pulse because the blown gasket wouldn't let the kegger hold the pressure while pressing the brakes. Just thought I'd give you guys a heads up.

I'm glad I don't have a plenum gasket anymore.
