'96 ext cab 2wd short box 3/4 ton, around 150k on it, I paid $1100 about 6 mos ago. It's been frustrating, as it seems to be a bit more dainty than some of my bowties Ive had, but I think when I get everything unbroken it will be fine. When it runs well, it runs WELL.

It needed o2s, tune, plenum, replaced the cat and added a cat back dual setup. It's a love/hate thing, but I really do love the truck. Im hoping to repaint it over the winter. Just gotta decide what color. Black? Maybe.

Black is the ONLY colour a truck should be painted.

You dont have to rub it in..its a gamble as one truck could end up needing thousands in unseen (or visible) repairs and one can run like a top...they are not all equal value just because of year and model...and dont forget different vehicles got for different rates in different areas of the us...thats why so many used car dealers buy from out of state and ship elsewhere....

Mine is a 1994 RAM 1500 4x4, 5.9L V-8 360 Magnum. The guys was asking $1500. I looked it up on Kelley Blue Book and in "Fair" condition (which is was..barely) it booked @ $2600. I offered $1300 and he bit. I have replaced the radiator ($400), the fuel pump ($600), all four shocks ($20ea), a front hub-bearing assembly ($65). I still need four tires, replace the inner axle seal, and a rear step bumper....oh yeah I almost forgot the rear main seal leaks and at some point I will either have to rebuild or replace the engine because the bearings are going out........I really wanted a Ford!

Think you are a bit are confused
He paid 15K US for a 4yr old truck, that would be about 19K Cdn back then.

My Indy I purchased brand new off the lot April 96. Window sticker was $29,009Cdn (IIRC), out the door was 33k. Stateside same truck was about 23K sticker, out the door, maybe 25k. Figure Ive put another 30-35k (Cdn) in parts into the Indy since buying it, 3/4 of it in the last 4yrs. Parts Ive bought stateside have cost me between 1.00 per US dollar (08)to a high of about 1.75 per US dollar back in 97.
My 99 V10 2500HD 4x4 I also bought new, stickered 38k, paid 33k out the door Feb 00 (gas prices scared anyone from buying one).

So that said, I guess I win, or loose depending on how you look at it
