the point is if you are getting flashed all the time there is something wrong with your setup and you are shining too much light in oncomming traffics eyes.... we all know there is a big difference in the amount of light from a mercedes with properly configured HID's and the guy with HID's that look light two out of place blue fireballs coming at you...and the real reason someone usually has those really blue lights is not to be practical (because the blue puts out less usfull light to the human eye than real white) but because he wants to stand out and get others attention.... And not to stereotype but sadly its usually those same people who have them pointed way too high as well. And they give a bad name to them in general. Hell maybe that has something to do with why the older modded vehicles with them seem to be so annoying to me as I pass them.
so if your gonna try to use them in stock housings make a conscious effort please to think about other drivers and adjust them to compensate for things like a lift. I have projectors and have not once been flashed by anyone in the 3 months I've had them because they are adjusted for my lift.

I was complaining about using the factory light fixtures for HID's as when I see someone with them I can tell right away they are the wrong lights for the fixtures the older halogen style light fixures were designed for halogen lights they had a textures lense that difused most of the light inside and even though its focused there the amount of stray light outside this focused area is higher and thats because when you have the duller lamp it wasnt very distracting to other drivers.... all the HID's I see that were designed to be HID's seem to have the light more directed to the road and they usually have a clear lense with something blocking the upper part of the bulb deflecting downward or they are projectors which when actually adjusted right are the least obtrusive to oncoming traffic because they have the sharpest most defined cutoff point to focus the light into a more efficient concentrated beam.

there are lots of options for HID packages for our trucks that come with the housings.... and they are not all the projector style looking ones however they are different.... be sure not to just buy some without checking if they are ok for HID's as they can actually melt housings not designed for them.

they are not all cheapo just because they are on ebay....their are like 25 different makes and styles on there....just use feedback and common sense and you can get good ones there. many big companies including summit and lmc have stores on there...
