There is also a metal clip that hols a fuel line (I think) that one of the bolt go through. I did not know this and broke the clip, as I was pulling the starter off. With a case of dumb luck that clip went in to my bellhousing and I had to dig it out with a magnet.

 

there were 2 fasteners (fancy word huh) on my 01. one was a bolt and the other was a nut on a stud. i think the stud was on top. one or both was a bitch to remove because it was torqued at 5 million pounds.
