heater only blowing hot

Default heater only blowing hot

okay so i been letting this problem slide with out tryingt to fix it. so my 2001 dodge ram only blows hot. even if you turn the temp **** to cold(blue..lol) and its blows super hot. even when u turn it to a/c is blows hot.. my wife's dad has a 95 dodge that does the same thing so i know this is probly somewhat common.. how do i fix this or ??? please help any advice would be great

sounds like the temp *** isnt doing what its supposed to, take it aprat and check the wiring

The blend door is broke or the mechanism that operates it, or the control module itself is bad. Those 2 trucks operate differently. The 2001 has a little electric motor down by the blend door that goes bad. The 95 probably uses a cable IIRC.

Is the A/C charged? Compressor working? You didn't say, so I have to ask.

+1 on the blend door check.


(the SEARCH feature here makes thing easier, try it)

yeah a/c was good... i took it out but i never blow cold even witht he a/c pump and etc.. but the wiring is good but i'm not even sure were the blend door it or anything. i honest don't know much about the wriing and stuff on the dodge's i build chevy's not dodges lol so yeah more info would be good thanks for what you already have told me

It's a rectangular plastic box on the side(towards the driver side of the heat/ac unit under the dash. Maybe someone with a later model than mine can get a pic of it for you.

...i thought when you said later models...it meant my truck...i havent dug deep in heating/cooling systems yet
