Just make sure you don't wait too long, or your tires will wear unevenly.

I would go with trac-bar replacement too(and you don't need an alignment after installing a new one,or bj's for that matter). If the problem still exists after trac-bar replacement, have someone in the truck (without it running) turn the steering wheel left to right (not all the way, just a little past the looseness each way) while you look from the bottom of the steering column under the brake booster , looking at all the steering components out to the tie rods connected to the steering knuckles.

Why do I have the feeling of deja vue? LOL

Are you sure you don't need an alignment for ball joints or a track bar? I could have sworn you did.

They are both non adjustable. All that can be adjusted is toe and caster. That is of course assuming it's 4wd.

Yes, ball joints AND an alignment. Much better but not perfect. However, after driving it a bunch today I'm getting more accustomed to it. Maybe it's just coming from a good solid '09 car to a 8 year old truck with 100k miles.

Thanks.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Suspensions are my weak area so I'll probably take it to my trusted wrench and have him look it over.

I tell you, this puppy is good and solid for this many miles. It runs out great, shifts great, no known probs other than this front end.

Thanks again.

i dont know if this would play a role in the problem, but are you sure you have the tires balanced right? on mine they take the sticky weights, and 2 days after i got them balanced, i noticed a section of the sticky weight had flown off somehow. caused a good amount of play in steering. so i took it back and made them rebalance them, and they did
