That's pretty much the norm in a healthy motor, but you have to keep in mind that the newest of these trucks is like 8-9 years old, and some of them are closer to 16.

Alot of things contribute to bad fuel mileage.

Blown intake (plenum) gaskets
Big tires with high gears (ex. 35" tires and 3.55 R&P gears)
Ancient piston rings ****ing up your compression
Driving habbits (lots of young guys on here)
Tire width and tread (wide mud tires = rolling resistance)

Well take a look at my truck, Its got 35" x 12.5" r16 With 4:10 gears.
Also Its lifted. And it dont get treated like it should it gets floored 2-5 times every time its driven. So yea. This is with hypertech tune for 93 and shell 93 gas. So should it be way worse? Its a 360 too.

Well if thats true then you must have some kind of world record for most MPG with 35s

I run 35x12.5x20 and have 5 inch lift and some engine mods and i get about 175 miles to a tank with 26 gal. thats an average of like 6.7 MPG

Yeah but 35s with 4.10 gears is like 29-30 inch tires with 3.55s

Yeah, gearing makes that big of a difference.
Also that means your motor is in really good shape, so you should be a happy camper.

Your truck has problems dude. That's horrible. That's like the kind of mileage you should get hauling an 8,000 pound trailer behind you.

I can pretty much garuntee your plenum (intake) gasket is blown all to hell.
Probably death flash and, I suppose you definitely have 3.55 gears (most of us are unfortunate in that department). You should be getting no worse than 12mpg.

Yes sir on them two. thats why new intake manifold is on its way. Smokes like a son of a B****, Guys from work ask me about it all the time cuz 3 of them have a 2nd gen ram but dont do it.

I can almost say that the gasket is probably totally destroyed. ive seen some where they just bend out between the bolts but mine are probably just gone

And gears will come when 1 ton axles are installed

That will have destroyed your catalytic converter no doubt, and probably fouled all of your spark plugs too, so you'll want to be replacing those as well.

Good man waiting on the 1-ton axles. Do it once, do it right.

If you put a K&N sticker on the back glass, you'll gain like over 9000 hp.
