Yes, a locker just makes both tires spin all the time 2wd or 4wd. If I went with a locker I would have a 3wd truck.

In this situation it makes it much easier to powerslide, going around a corner and punching it locks the locker, so the inside tire will start to overrun so only the outside tire has traction, making it easier to break both loose.

Oh and just to give people an idea of what it might cost, This is a " " from dt. Here is the shops site if anyone wants it. http://www.j-bmotorsports.com/

I asked for quotes in multiple different ways: F/R gear install, F/R gear install with different lockers in the rear, and install price if I took all the stuff and this is what he gave me...

1) 4.56’s front & rear install open diff & oil. $1650
2) w/ Detroit truetrac $2170
3) w/ eaton l/s $2085
4) install with you supplying all parts $750

I hope you realize the TrueTrac is an LSD, not a locker.

why you going 4.56 ?? and whats the cheapest and most rielible lockers (link if you can never seen lockers )... so does lockers help with acceleration like punching it off the line ?

If I go locker I'm going to get this. http://completeoffroad.com/i-123214-...187c-172a.html

I want to say yes it will help you and so would a set of slicks. Why I'm going for 4.56 I want to run 35" tires. But my rpm's will be high so I'm thinking of just doing 4.10's and 35".

Even though my trucks 2wd Id personaly would rather have an LSD, because i hate having a tire spinning while turing on the streets all because theres gravel or sand there and whats wrong with LSDs if mine was 4X4 id still rather have an LSD

Simple for off road use it is ideal. My driving is %70 road and %30 off road.

Whats wrong with LSDs is first off, they have clutches that wear out, and as they get worn, they react more and more like an open diff (although this takes a long time). Lockers don't wear out, they either work like new or break completely (which is rare). Secondly, if you get one tire up in the air, a locker will provide the one on the ground with 50% of the torque, whereas an LSD might do 30-40%. I'm not saying LSDs are bad, cause I have one and like it, but there's a lot of things a locker is better at.
