I agree, the gasket is gone or broken. And when you reinstall, push down on the whole housing and make sure it is seated, while you tighten that clamp .

What i did to reinstall was put the clamp on the housing, push down on the housing to align it with the throttle body, and then push on the clamp with the housing while tightening the screw. Well, i have to physically push the housing up for a gap to appear, and i spent about 10 minutes looking for a gasket that might have fallen, to no avail. I'm not sure if one was there before i started to mess with it, or if it fell when i was messing with it. Does anyone have any suggestions of where to get a new gasket? would a regular auto parts store carry then or would i have to go to a dodge dealer? I assume that it is a vital part because without it the filter is pretty much of no use, so i am getting slightly worried.

If you go to the O'Reilly Auto Parts website click on Engine Parts & Mounts. Then click on Engine Gaskets, then Air Cleaner Mounting Gasket. Don't know if you have O'Reilly's near you, but you can see what your looking for.

Great looking truck by the way!

Thanks for the help! I do not have an O'Reilly's near me, but i checked Advance Auto Parts and they have the exact same thing in stock at a store in my town! I really am thankful for all of your help, i can not explain how dumb i felt when i first posted here(i'm just a 16 year old kid with my first vehicle). Usually newcomers on forum's( that i have been a part of) are treated horrible, that's not the case here.

Also thanks for the compliment on my truck , it's a little rusty but for a first vehicle i can't complain.

Get rid of the stock air cleaner assembly all together and by an edelbrock pro flo 1000 from AZ or Schucks, easy to install, cleanable and lets the bad boy breath. plus you can hear the throttle body sucking air loud and clear when you open er up.

^ And the same thing can be accomplished by throwing in a K&N drop in, with out the loss in low end. The *** dyno feels it, and my time slips prove it. (And the drop in is only $50.00 and your setup is.... what?.... around $70? Depending on what you use?)

Holy crap Batman are you telling me I hosed my low end by installing the edlebrock?
It was only about 30 bucks and it increased my fuel milage a slight.
