46RE to 47RE swap

Default 46RE to 47RE swap

I have a 1500 with the 360 with the 46re would it be possable to swap in a 47re tranny out of a 2500 or 3500
dose anyone know wht would need to be replace to do if possable?

im not sure if they put a 47 behind the v8, but if the did, it shouldnt be a problem, i would think if the electrical is the same it would be a bolt it, but you know how that kind of stuff can go...

I got an idea, how about doing a search before posting and using better titles? This question has been asked many times. No, it won't work. The housings are completely different and won't match up. The 47RE was only used on V10 and diesel models. The 2500s with V8s are considered Light Duty 2500s and have the 46RE tranny.
