OK so I found a picture of the non fouler trick,http://www.energeticforum.com/renewa...n-foulers.html

This will potentially work with a 4 wire?

first try getting the same brand 02 sensors. just take the hit on the sensors you have and buy 2 new ones that are the same, and see if theres any better results

The upstream is new.
I also tried pulling the downstream, wrapping it with tin foil and strapping it to the frame and still threw a code, maybe it is better to just replace it and see what happends. I would think that if the installation of the new cat causes the CEL to trip doing the tin foil trick would have taken care of it. The higher flow cat may have burned up the element in the old sensor.

IMO when you change one sensor you should change the other. i think of it as you changing 4 spark plugs, and not the other 4...see what i mean?

While I understand where you are comming from, it really isn't the same. The rear o2 whether replaced or not provides no performance gain. All it does is check to see that the cat is working. On the forum since I have been here it has been general practice when doing the highflow to only replace the front sensor only. It may work to your advantage if the rear o2 sensor isn't reading right. I know I did replace both of mine, but I got a cel 6 months later saying the cat wasn't working. front and rear o2 voltages matched. I still wonder to this day if I left my old rear o2 sensor in like most suggest if I wouldn't have ran into a problem. Oh well, whats done is done. Wish you luck OP.

This will potentially work with a 4 wire?

yes, the other wires are simply for the heated element in the 02.

1 wire is for the sensor portion, 2 wires are power and ground for the heating element, and the 4th wire is the pcms sensor input for the heater element to determine if the heaters working properly.

but alll o2 sensors work very similarly.

to answer your question yes.

the part number on the non foulers in the link are different from ours(49002 i believe it is), i actually just picked up some anti seize, and the non foulers from advance last night. gonna have my cat cut out, and a pipe put in place. then gonna get a cherry bomb, and have it put on, with a down pipe on it.
