So the way to fix this problem that i can see, is try replacing the 02sensors again. and if that doesnt work. do the non-fouler trick. but there really isnt a point, that i can see, on why you would have to get a different cat

I'd call magnaflow before you throw another dollar at it and then use the info to spend the money to fix it right. If they say that cat should work, then go another route. Like I told you earlier, that memo was their own memo on the cat's efficiency and it's usage with ethanol. And I never said the dimensions were any different, only that the amount of precious metal used in construction was different, so I'm not sure why you used that as a valid reason to discount the cat. Heck, the very next poster verified I wasn't BSing about that memo. Perhaps you just don't want to hassle with taking it off and returning it.

I highly doubt it's a defective new O2 sensor. It does happen sometimes, but if anything the old one was caked with debris and not giving a true reading. The new one probably is, and it doesn't like what it's seeing. The voltages of each sensor should not be equal as the exiting gas should be hotter and contain fewer emissions. I doubt you'll get a different result with a new sensor, and you might just be throwing $60-80 out the window to "try" a new one.

A non-fouler is a "fooler fix," it doesn't mean the cat's working correctly. It doesn't mean that if they sniff your truck you'll pass emissions. It may only pass a visual CEL check, but if the tech gets to looking at the actual exhaust, he may wonder why an adapter is up in the piping. I'm not sure the level of emissions testing you have to deal with, so YMMV. I'm assuming of course that you have to pass emissions, or else why would you care about the cat unless it's plugged?

I can verify what AIMS says about the cat is true, I have the same problem with the 94 series. I called Jeg's a few months back and they confirmed it for me. I use the non fouler trick because I have not had time to deal with swapping cats, plus I don't have to worry about emissions testing.

If your looking just to get rid of your code for now take the post O2 and zip tie it to the frame rail or tranny and then you can get a cap and screw it in the O2 bung so you dont have an exhaust leak
When I got my exhaust done I deleted the cat and have my pre O2 in the exhaust and my post O2 zip tied to the tranny been runnig this way since before the summer
