i have double checked everything, and i have no leaks from anything, so i know its not from muddy water. ill flush today, and see if she'll stay clean

I'd be willing to bet the fluid is just dark and brown from being original. Most people do not ever flush the power steering system... probably the most overworked fluid in a vehicle.

thats what im thinking because i put my finger in to check the texture, and its not really that thick at all. So i think it is the original

not in our trucks I believe...only some years its ok to use..there is a recent thread about this if you search.

I started using Lucas power steering fluid im my truck, it's a fair bit thicker than the other fluids in the store and I haven't even noticed it getting discolored yet after about 25000 km.
