680 hp?
So I was crunching some numbers today during linear data structers class. I figured that when I do my 408 stroker, and i put on my twin turbo set up that i should be running about 680 horses. This is based off the calc. that the 408 is putting out 400 hp and around 550 torque (thats in the ball park correct?). Heres my calculations:
if(408 stroker == 400bhp){
boost = 10psi ;
1psi boost = 7% hp;
400 * 70% = 280;
total horses+= 280;
total horses = 680;
return yes?
} // i think that should be about right
if(408 stroker == 400bhp){
boost = 10psi ;
1psi boost = 7% hp;
400 * 70% = 280;
total horses+= 280;
total horses = 680;
return yes?
} // i think that should be about right

Stock 46re with 9.25 & lsd in a 4x2 sees about 25% driveline loss. To handle the power your going for, need to beef up the tranny with bigger shell, more clutch plates, more gears on the planetaries if you want it to last longer than a few miles
That & the 4x4 transfer case, expect about 26-27% loss
Id guesstimate 680hp crank would put down 490-500rwhp in your truck. Lot of variables in the motor, driveline, boost & tune but its still fun doing desktop dynoing
That & the 4x4 transfer case, expect about 26-27% loss
