Tcase/NV4500
Alright I know this might be beating the bush a little but with a bit of a twist.
First of I have a 96 1500 Reg Cab, 318, NV3500, 4x4
I'm looking into doing a nv3500 to nv4500 swap. I've confirmed that all you need to bolt up the 4500 is the bellhousing from the truck you pull it from as long as you pulled it from a Dodge with a 360. If you pull it from a V10 or diesel it will NOT bolt up.
Now the stock clutch, and flywheel can be used. I'm not 100% sure I still need to do some digging but the sensors should hook up just fine.
Now the question, NV4500's come with a 4x4 Output shaft of: 1-1/2" 29 spline. What I'm wondering is what tcase comes standard with my truck? I looked for the ID tag on mine but the brilliant guy who owned this truck before me took it off. This is pretty much the only thing holding me back from looking for a truck to pull the tranny from and attempting this swap. Cause if the two don't hook up when I try to install everything I'm SOL and I have to put my beat 3500 back in...not to mention the time and money I've blown
Any answers and advice are greatly appreciated.
EDIT: I'm not sure if the information is entirely accurate on the output shaft being 29 spline. From what I've heard Tcases with 29 spline shafts are extreme HD tcases not common in most most LD Ram 2500 Gas motors:
