Default Better brakes

Ladies and Gentlemen, my brakes suck. I just put 33's on my truck and am loving them but braking did suffer a bit. I searched but I came up with a lot of mixed results.

I have an 01 1500 4x2 with 2 wheel ABS. What are good upgrades for improving braking? I know my rotors will need to be replaced the next time I need brakes because they were almost out of spec the last time I got them turned.

I've read about slotted rotors and the lot, but Ive never really seen a whole lot of data to support any improvement in braking.

Anyone have any advice? I DID search by the way.

If you DID search you should have come across the thread about swapping your rear wheel cylinders for the 1-ton models. There is also a thread about swapping from the single-piston to the later dual-piston front calipers.

Already did that. And I DID search. Also, my truck came from the factory WITH dual-piston calipers. It's a 2001.

You might want to look into what pads are on your truck. I don't know what are on mine, but my 2000 stops on a dime. I've seen reports of poor braking with budget pads. There are a number of threads on brake pads in here, as well.

They are OEM pads. I have lifetime brakes through Chrysler, I just pay labor. However I would be willing to try another part if it would improve my braking.

I also just had my front calipers rebuilt a year ago.

I've read good things about EBC pads. I use them on all my motorcycles and they are very good, but pricey.
