Default Loss of Oil Pressure

After I drive around a bit and the engine gets warmed up, my oil light will come on and my oil pressure will drop to zero. This only happens at an idle, like at a stoplight. As soon as I get the rpm's up a little the pressure stabilizes and everything is fine. It won't do it until after a drive of a couple of miles.

Have you tried the search button by any chance? This question has been asked 50 million times! It would also be nice if you put ALL the info about your vehicle in your sig, so people don't have to guess or assume. Plus you wouldn't have to hear it from a-holes like me, LOL

year and mileage would be helpful.

possible causes -
engine low on oil.
engine sludged up, not draining from heads.
oil pickup screen blocked.
worn out oil pump.
worn out engine or misfit bearings.
oil pressure sending unit bad.
