Engine won't start

Do another cranking session for a bit. Then remove all the spark plugs and see if they are wet with fuel. If yes, you may not be getting fire. If dry, you may not be getting fuel.

With all the plugs out, ground them. Now, have someone crank the engine and see how they fire.

Strange, that it does not start. What you have done seems to indicate it should start.

Last item needed for start is air. This is rarely a problem.

this may sound silly but my uncle had a 95 ram 1500 with same prob. he had welded something think it was a plow frame he had on it. Anyway in doing this he ended up frying a ground wire on the truck not sure where bur replaced the ground wire and wah lah it ran like a champ.

yeah, im tired of spending money...ok so tried holding the throttle open it hickuped liked it was gonna start, but nothing, i can only get it to try to start when the air box is off, if i put the air box back on it, it wont do nothing, think PCM could do it?

i dont even know where to begin looking for broken ground wires, she just quit overnite, ran wonderfully when i parked her in my garage and next morn she quit on me, i'll do the spark plug check/test and get back to you guys.

Do you have a scan tool, or access to one? Could be a code in the PCM that's not tripping the CEL.

Unscrew the pre-cat o2 sensor from the bung and see if it starts.

Z-MAN, your a life saver.....unsrewed the o2 sensor and bam, fired right up, dont know why i didnt think of it, had same problem with another truck of mine few years back...thank all of you for your help, guess its time to cut out cat and install "test pipe" or might just get new cat yet haven't decided. Thanks guys

Too bad you bought a new coil pack. Hope you kept the old one as a spare. Not to rag on you, but next time, be more thorough in troubleshooting and not be so quick to swap parts.
