I finally put the hitch on my truck. I decided to just weld it onto the crossmember. I cut both ends off the hitch so i could mount it flush with the frame. The receiver tube had a 1/8" plate on top of it, so I welded a 1/8" plate all the way across so it would be completely flat on top, then I welded it all the way around where the hitch touches the crossmember. I still need to cut a hole in the air dam and bend my bar on the brush guard back down so i can put the shackle in the hitch. It is nice because the hitch lines up perfectly with the air dam and it is below the license plate bracket.

I can get more pictures if anyone wants them.

Also, FYI, welding sucks when you're laying on your side and putting down a 4' bead that you really goober on to make sure it'll hold.

I gotta throw this picture in there because welding pictures are awesome.

Draw-tite makes one. I'm getting one once I get my leveling kit done.

a good 2.5-3". i prefer having the hitch above the bottom of the air dam, flush with the bottom of the bumper.
it is also only rated for 300lb tounge weight and 9000 lb line pull.
