They make a ****-load of money off that $.30 RadioShack ressistor. All it does it tricks you AIT sensor into thinking that the air is colder, making the engine run richer.

 

Thats what I figured.... People have been selling kinda stuff on ebay.. Not sure how I even found it.. I was lookin at radiators..lol

 

One way to get your computer to think the intake air is cooler is to move the IAT sensor off of the intake manifold to somewhere on your intake.

The IAT sensor is right in the middle of the picture, and it's bronze.

 

Is this a good idea to do, moving the IAT to the air intake tube, and can i move it into the airrad CAI tube I have? Is there really any noticeable gain? and Any potential problem that could come from doing it?

 

Yes, it is a good idea. And no potential problems associated with it.

 

a guy on here made a switchable IAT but he had to buy a new IAT and IAT pigtail harness, and basically he left the one in the manifold, then put one out on the tube, and then ran a switch so he could switch between the 2, he kept the manifold one for the economy, and the new farther out one for performance...i was gonna do this when i bought a CAI. but im just goin with a 14x3 now.

when i read that link the guy mentioned insulating the fuel lines, and im wonderign if header wrap would work well on that?
