Been in that situation a few times, when its dry pavement is not that hard to get it under control, when the pavement is wet, things get squirrely. Glad you and your pickup are alright!

Also wanted to note, if your coming out a fish tail, and you feel the rear end wanting to shift the other way and do another fish tail, give your brake a gentle tap and it'll straighten her out nicely. This also comes in handy when it first starts raining when the roads are the most slick from the oil, and your rear end accidentally breaks loose a little bit around a turn.

Actually, I think the only thing that did save me was me tapping the throttle constantly. I got the feeling that had I tapped the brakes, one of two things would have happened. 1. It would have rolled. 2. I would have made a full turn and completely lost it. There was no minor tailing. It was full bore sideways in the road the whole time.

AhhhhhGood ole times. Since were telling crazy 16yrold stories. I had just gotten my first dodge. a 2000 dodge dakota club cab 3.9. and was racing a buddy of mine on some curvy back roads just after a little rain and snow. We left his house got up to around 50 and had a 90* turn. Needless to say his little 4 banger mustang turned fine. My Dakota...... well lets just say it thought it was a bird. I jumped the 4ft ditch and landed in a cornfield. Didn't stop but drifted nicely through the field. Never did that again. Now when it snows i either pull people out of the ditch or I stay home.

Thank goodness your truck is ok and you for that matter.

oh i got a couple

a few years ago, heading to my old highschool, came around a curve, it was april, and i had the wide rubber on it, we had a freak snow, as i came around that curve, ended up sliding off the road, stopped a few feet to the left of a telephone pole

last winter, day after opening presents, heading to my grandmas house, had mom and pop in the truck with me, heading down the hill on county line, the road was iced over and it was 35 out, there was a layer of water on the ice, i did a full 360 and then some, bouncing of snow banks on each side, almost hit a tree or two

oh and i had my bug shield peel off at about 70, that was scary
