They usually don't go all at once! There will be a period where it starts to slip while going into gear (usually just starts with going into first) and eventually will get worse to where it will slip while in a low gear under heavy torque, and then get worse from there. But it will usually still be driveable at a point where you know its on its way out!
Thanks for the info. So far not slipping but I constantly look for it. First sign, I will ground the truck until I replace the clutch.

Thanks for the all the tips.I'll try to get through winter and replace it in spring using some of the tax refund. There are alot of high school kids around here that want this truck because its a manual. But I was told by a salesman that you can't even order a new 2500 with a gas engine/manual combo,so I'll be hangin onto this at least 3 more years when my oldest boy turns 16 [he claims the truck becomes his then].
