Default Odd Fuel problem

Tank is getting dropped this weekend..but in the mean time..this is what it's doing...once the tank gets to half empty.. the truck run out of fuel... anyone ever seen this.??.. what do you think I will find when I pull the pump? From looking at the exploded view.. I cant tell ..but I think I will find a hole in the line inside the housing...an when the fuel gets below the hole..it just pumps it back in tank?... anyone wanna guess...???

What kind of MPG are you getting? It could just be a bad sending unit.

Our tanks are either 26 or 35 gallons if I'm not mistaken. So for you to have a full tank with only 12 to 15 gallons...well, something's up!

this is out there but is your filler neck leaking? my buddys filler neck rusted through and a pice of the rust clogged the fuel pump. Whenwe dropped the tank it was rust, cleaned the tank, and from what hes told me its ran fine since.

What you describe could be the scenario. Just go get a new sending unit so you can put it in when you drop the tank. You can't do much on the sending units.
