I resealed my OE plate a couple of weeks ago and I saw nothing to make me question what you want to do.

...and Z's suggestion is excellent.

Go for it, why buy something if you can build it yourself...and just so you know welding cast aluminum or steel is a bitch, this is from a professional. I would say stay on the safe side and bolt it down, don't risk trashing your new plate or kegger. IMO

+1 for Weldor, I have to agree as a professional welder myself. Cast aluminum is a PITA, it can be done but not really a DIY.

Mass produce at small scale, express to your customers that yours will be 100% flat, get a business licence, sell'em local/online.

If you've ever used a CNC, it only takes a few minutes to have something engraved/written on it.

Well. It's only $85 dollars for it. and I'd imagine it can't take that long to ship.

But if you do do it (I don't see why not?), you should engrave it as said above. Be creative
