Default tv-cable

i'm just curious, is there anyway to replace that plastic connector without pulling out the whole cable? i went to a junkyard today to get some different parts, and saw that the tv-cable was attached in a different way than mine is(i knew the way mine was attached was wrong, just havent had time to play with it yet). so i was curiuos if there was anyway to just replace the end without replacing the whole cable. this might be the problem with my transmission that i've been having so any info is appreciated. thanks!

i dont need to adjust it right now, i need to replace the connector to the TB. my connector is just a thick wire wrapped around it, and i know thats not right and it could be the problem with my tranny too. i'm just curious if its possible to replace JUST the connector, or if i have to replace the whole cable.

The whole cable needs to be replaced, sorry to say. And if all you have is wire wrapped around it to hold it on, I'd say it is out of adjustment for sure! And may very well be the reason the tranny went bad to begin with.

I'm pretty sure it can because it cause's the tranny to shift at incorrect points. Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm no tranny expert, but the cable adjusts fluid pressure, too much no good, too little no good.

that cable isn't ridiculous at the dealership. But you can also try a junk yard.

well, i ended up going to the junkyard and pulling one. replaced it today in my driveway and adjusted it properly. the tranny does seem to shift smoother and so far hasn't done what it has been doing, but we'll find out tomorrow. only thing is, it still takes forever to shift into 3rd...like i almost have to get it to go like 3000-3500 rpms to get it to shift. i dont understand what's causing that.
