Dumb question about nerf bar installation
I am considering buying nerf bars, and i have done hours of research. If i get nerf bars, i will be installing them myself. I have looked at the installation instructions for all of the major brands, and they all have "support straps." They all mysteriously do not tell you where these "support straps" attach to.
I have come to you, Dodge Forum members, for guidance on this extremely pathetic question.
Regardless, i am mainly considering the all stainless black powdercoated "Back Country SS Nerf Bars," if any of you wanted to know. They claim that "everything is stainless but the instructions" which is good for michigan weather. Their price is also right in my budget.
Thanks again

if you look up under the cab, if I remember right there are two supports for the cab in the front and rear that run from the frame towards the rockers. That is where my supports hooked on. And the ends of the tubes bolt to two L shaped brackets that mount to the bolt down mounts for the cab

just drill a pilot hole and use a fat self tapper.

if you have them too far in on the bars then you'll have a lot of bounce to them. the reason for the straps is to keep the nerf bars still when you step on them.
mine were on the truck when i got it but if i had installed them the straps would be further out. but they don't bounce as they are so i guess its fine.

Thank you for your opinion, but i happen to think nerf bars are aesthetically pleasing.
I am planning on getting the "Back Country SS Nerf Bars" which are 100% stainless steel, brackets and all( except apparently the support strap), for 220$ shipped.
i got a no name set off ebay for 100$ for my sisters truck, how much are you planning on shelling out for yours?
