I just went thru a set of BFG AT's and cant wait to get new ones, I don't like them. although the wear is good... they lasted about 40k they dont have the grip or ride that I like. I'll be going to the Toyo Open Country 295 75X16's, 1 size up from the current 285's. I've had 2 sets on my Jeep Grand Cherokee and love them, they lasted about the same or maybe even longer than the AT's and had far better grip on the trails in my opinion (for where I go anyway... Sierra Nevada mtns) and the ride was better. I've slid twice into intersections in my ram with the bfg's because all 4 tires locked up under braking (no grip) and they still had a lot of tread left.

my .02 cents worth...

Wow and here I thought I was doing good with a set a A/T's from Big O, but I do want to go bigger I'm thinking of going to a 17 instead of the 16's that are on there now, but I must tell you I've used Big O's tires for years and have had no problems with them at all.
But on my husband's Ram he's got a set of Wild Cat's and they are no good for snow but they came with the truck so he'll keep them until he needs to change them all out.... they are 140.00 each.
if you'd like to see his truck go to my web page... this site won't let me upload the pic's of our rams...don't know why either....

I went with Mickey Thompson Baja Claws on my last 2 trucks. Loud as hell on the road but the v shaped tread as almost no hydroplaning (sp). I was very impressed with that. It rains lot here in germany and I findself driving over flooded ruts and roads. They lasted along time and had awesome traction off the road. If you do alot of highway driving you might look for a quiter tire but I only drive 4 miles each way from work. Ive notice that people look up from the sidewalk when I drive by. Seems to wake them out of there trance. Who knows maybe loud tires saves lives. lol

Thanks for all who replied!
It looks like for the most part the BF goodriches is the common tire. I have not heard any remarks
on the brigdestone revo's from anyone. Again I drive 90% highway and do get snow here in PA and
I also go to the mountains with this truck. So I guess the Bf goodrich all-terrains would work the best.

BFG Mud Terrains I have heard the AT's suck in mud and don't last much longer on pavement.

BFG TA/KO 285/75/R16s. Love the BFGs and don't get much road noise considering it's an all-terrain tire. A whole set and an alignment ran just under $900. A little steep, but awesome tires. They look good and they last forever.

This is why I get confused(yes it doesn't take much), Trying to find the best tire?
I go back to the last two tires did not last but 23,000 miles and they were rotated and
I had alignments done, but I was told to go to an all-terrain tire I am trying to find the
best tire and I don't mind to pay a little more for it.
I looked at tire rack and to me the bf's and the revo's lookto be great tires but
would like experience and opions on.[sm=bangbang.gif]

Sure. It's always best to hear what other people have experienced. The one thing I'll tell you for sure is stay away from the Goodyear all-terrains. Had a set. They were crap.

I'm sold on BFGs. Most of my buddies with 4x4 trucks have them and love them. Can't speak to the Revos.

I've got Cooper Discoverer A/T's on my 3/4 ton. I love those things. I've got almost 20,000 miles on them in just over a year and they show very little wear. They're an aggressive A/T tread and are the best I've ever driven in snow. I had a set on a '90 Chevy and liked them so much I got a set for this Ram. I've had BFG A/T's on other rigs and liked them, but the Coopers are a much better buy.
