i used to install alot of plows. I dont think you will have a problem with a 3" lift because as soon as you put that plow up, the truck is going to sag about 3", lol. these things are heavy. I dont know about the one you're looking at but I installed Western plows and most of them make a 1 ton sage like 1". we put a couple on 2wd 1500 Chevrolets (I dont ask questions, cusomer orders, I install, lol). the front dropped around 3" and the rear end lifted about 1" with the plow lifted off the ground, it put the mounts about 4" off the ground. It worked, but this is something to think about when putting one on your 1500.

one thing just to add.... this is a very small frame compared to wester plows... and its plastic basicly, not steel like a western or a fisher... so it should make his truck sag but maybe an inch ven being a 1500...

and as for plowing with the 1500 trucks... it will do fine.. towing something down the highway is more work then this little thing... its small enough if he does get that much snow in front of him, it will just go up and over... or if hes smart, he angles it and it just gets pushed to the side... no big deal... like he said, hes just doing his driveway... not a highway, or a parking lot... and i cant wait for the first noreaster to hit NC in the powder form... alot of these NCidiots cant drive int he snow and freak out, i make a killing cause i pull them out of the ditch, 20 bucks.. lol

If it were a normal 7' plow, I would be weary of doing it with a 1/2 ton. But the thing only weighs 225lbs (plow, assembly, hitch, etc.) total. We would all throw a quad or something in our beds without thinking twice -- I think it'd be fine, especially if he only wants to do his driveway or whatever.

Guess you missed the weight its only 250lbs with everything on it. I'm not looking at hard core plowing just my drive way.

Yea I know my truck can't do a full size plow plus I don't want a full size hydro plow cause I don't want the frame. Than I can't do any wheelin. If i was going to put 2 on I would do this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LElJq...eature=related
