Silver, I'm really liking the look of the matching valve covers and air hat. Good work!

Do any of you guys have a problem smelling oil fumes in the cab with the 14x3?

When I had it setup with the PCV valve I didn't smell anything but it would be hard to start for some reason. I called my father and he thinks the 14x3 is creating more vaccum and is sucking more out of the PCV valve. I took off the throttle body and looked down in there and saw oil running down the PCV inlet port on the manifold, no plenum leak just fixed that.

Now, I am running breathers on both sides, with hoses that run the fumes right into the 14x3 with the supplied elbows the edelbrock kit comes with, yet I am still smelling oil fumes. Only when I am at a stop though.

Anyone else have a similiar problem? Fix for it?

This is what my current setup looks like

After weeks of mess up after mess up with suppliers out here in So Cal, the new heads are finally in. We had so many issue with Edlebrock it was ridiculous. First, they only sent one head, and, on top of that, it was the wrong head for the old 318s.

Then, we had to wait two and half weeks to get the heads in but, only one valve cover gasket was packaged so, we had to call them again to get the other gasket.

At that time, they told us, "hey, we shipped you the wrong head gaskets" This was after the engine was together. Had to tear it all down again and put the right gaskets in.

After that, we forgot about the valve covers and, well, the OEM ones, do not fit over roller rockers on these heads. So, hunting around today for valve cover heads in So Cal- no got. F-this. I got pissed and took the OEM ones, ripped the baffles out and painted them for now until I get the new covers shipped out east.

So, it's been a real pain as I am rushing to finish this up so I can leave for the cross country trek this week.

Here's some pics of both the intake and heads before we put the covers on.

No problems yet with rain or snow. I checked after driving in our last heavy snowfall, and everything was still dry.

I see alot of you guys like the 14x3 if I go that route would you keep the paper ring filter or go with a K&N ring? I've also been looking at the AirRaid system, I like the way that looks any opinion on the open cone? I will do a little dusty road driving but I see the air raid has a oiled sleeve. Shouldn't be doing too much water jumping.
