Default door pins / interior light switch?

Has anyone replaced one? The little switch on the door jam?

Mine is clearly broken, and I'd love to replace it. It just spins in place, so I'm not quite sure how to replace the old one, or where to buy a new one, or even the proper name for it.

I tried searching, and didn't come across anything.

thanks in advance!

It's called Door Jamb or Door Ajar Switch. Try it with the 2001 MY: http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,ca...,parttype,4360
The OE part number is 04687558 and available at your local Dodge/Chrysler dealer.
For the replacement procedure check out the Merry Christmas Thread with the Service Manual. You will find the removal instructions in this manual at page 632.

Thanks! Part ordered through stealership. It's in stock, and cheaper than online, as I don't have to have it shipped. $9.95 at dealership, $5.60 + $9.95 shipping online!

Page printed off, and I hope to change it out tonight! Thanks again!

Just to report back, and close my own question. It was a very simple repair. The old one just pulls out! It doesn't twist at all, no wonder!

The caveat is, the plug came off inside the jam, so it was a slight pain to get my finger in to push it back out from behind the kick panel.

<edit to add text> The manual doesn't mention that the OEM sensor is adjustable for the size of the door jam gap when closed. It comes 'gapped' for a very large opening, and is very hard to push in. I couldn't do it, so I installed it, and when closing the door for the first time, it get's pushed in by itself. I assume I did it right, because it worked quite well! <end added text>

Let there be light!

Thanks again Diefenbaker!
