ok so my engine chatter is turning into a knock

Thanks squirrel. That is a nice layout. I'll be trying that soon. And then trying to get a hughs plenum kit before winter so I'm not stranded.

cylinders 5 and 7 fire one right after the other so if the wires aren't insulated well enough (cracked or just crappy insulation) then you will get cross firing between the two.

I did take the valve covers off when I had to replace the rusted drivers side. and eveything looked clean. no sludge or buildup. the oil was somewhat clean too. normal discoloration. So tonight I'm gonna pull the TB and see what is in the intake. Maybe all i will need is the plenum. I hope so. Trying not to spend an arm and a leg here. Still have school to pay for. lol

That is good to hear, but when it comes to a vehicle I tell people that spending nickels will cost dollars in the long run. Be on top of preventative maintenance and have money stashed for repairs.

The hughes kit wont put a hole in the wallet for its only 86 bucks. but i recommend getting the intake gasket kit with bolts as wll for the stock bolts are TTY (Torque to yeild)
