well ur not in texas r u? i haven't seen any blue beast where i live? and since u had the name first any suggestions on a diff name?
Damn! Take some of that money and buy some extra consonants so you can write complete words in order to be coherent.
don't take it down to metal anywhere unless you have to. if you do hit metal make sure you use an etch primer on the bare metal. what buddy said about the wet sanding and recoating is correct but he forgot to tell you after you've blocked down your final prime and when it's wash'n'wiped for paint you should seal it before you start layin' down your base. also make sure you clean and check your masking after wet sanding so you don't get any crap in your paint and clear.
It seems as if this guy knows nothing about painting (Neither do I, so dont take offense). I would ask for a professional's help on this one.
When I did me jeep I just sanded everything smooth and touched up all body work and bare metal first with etching primer (spaycan). Then a building/filling primer and then sanded to whole vehicle and sprayed it with this stuff called total prep to seal it and help the paint stick....I did two coats of metallic blue and then two coats of clear....(one being kinda of heavy since the gun was acting up.....
then I had severe orange peel so I sanded it all with 1000 grit sand paper and buffed it till it was as smooth as a babies ***..... came out great.
But didnt last all too long because I didnt seal the inside of the fenders where I did the body repairs so it rusted fast from inside out...
Dont make the mistake I did . also dont pile on bondo more than like and 1/8 thick or it wont last.... The last owner did that to my ram and it was bubbling up with moisture....had to grind it all out and fixed with med hair fiberglass kit and two stage epoxy.
Good luck! its a great feeling when its done...
oh yeah sweep up real good to remove as much dust as possible and wear a good respirator ...auto paints are very nasty...cover up good and your cloths will be toast.
