Default 01 ram o2 sensor question

Hello i have a 2001 dodge ram sport 1500 5.2l. my check engine lights on so i scanned it with a friends code reader it's saying o2 sensor bank 1 sensor 2. as far as i can tell there's only two o2 sensors on this truck one right before the cat and one right after the cat if thats correct would the code mean the sensor after the cat?

I'm not 100% sure but I think there should be 4. One in each manifold and one before and one after the cat. But I think the code is saying the O2 after the cat is bad.

No there is only 2. One pre cat and post cat. My truck said the same thing and I have looked all over there is only 2. I'm betting it is the up stream o2. (the one before the cat)

Most likely they are gonna be the same part number. Just go buy one and see. I would probably just replace both anyway. Even if you don't i would try swapping the front one and see if that clears it up

Yeah, I would at least TRY replacing the pre-cat one and seeing if it fixes it. Most of the time thats the one that causes problems. But it could be the after-cat one too, so if it isnt the first one just replace both.

4 cats on california emissions. 2 cats on federal emissions.

sensor 1 is upstream of cat.
sensor 2 is downstream.

in a 4 cat system, bank 1 is drivers side and bank 2 is passenger.
in a 2 cat, bank 1 is the only bank (side).
