Default Six year marriage, looking to spice it up alittle

Hi.
If you didnt see this on the new members area. I'll explain the title. I bought the truck out of highschool brand new (dont ever let your kids do this by the way hehe) It was two little things off of what a custom orders was going to be, so I bought it. Its six years old now and Ive been looking for a new vehical, but I just cant give it up. I didnt even want to sell it locally because I didnt want to see someone driving it around hehe. So I decided to spice it up alittle. Not so much on looks but more in the performance and fuel milage side.

Its a 99, 5.2L magnum, 4x4, auto.

What Ive already done to it is duel exhaust, duel Vforce 2 1/4 in 2 1/4 out (offset/center 14"). A K&N air filter, and currently looking into a hypertech chip.

What Iam wondering is does anyone know of a particular brand type of chip, or new air intake system that works well with this the truck. Or any tuning advice. Or other things that can give a boost to the performance. Iam not looking at nitro packs or anythings, just practical upgrades, and things that dont reduce your engine life by a great deal. Theres also one product, is it a joke or does it actually work "Spiral max"?

thanks for your time

PS dont want to turn it into a mud runner. The 4x4 is there for the Canadian prairie winters.

We put a Fastman 52mm Throttle Body on BOTH trucks I drive... I have The Lady (below) and a truck EXACTLY like yours. It did WONDERS for the 4x4... BEST mod ever to that truck. That's what I recommend. DF even has a deal with the Fastman here:

Think about it... I HIGHLY recommend it.

Rarin, your truck looks too good to trade in. and I want to believe that, from your comments, you would regret it...Hell, if it aint broke, dont fix it....there are many things you can do, Throttle body is good... friend did it and made a big diff....contact Superchip and ask them if they have a report for the 5.2... they are pretty cool and will respond to you if you e-mail them.... also breathing for the motor is good, k&n filter and more air inflo to it will help also.... Again, nice truck, looks good and cared for... ya gotta keep those "good women" around when they look like that, LOL.....................

Good luck....GUIDO

Apparently the factory throttle body is very restrictive, so a larger aftermarket one will help allow more air to flow through the engine.

Does it help performance, gas mileage, both?

Klute, I had a fastman TB and it gave me around 8 hp (03 5.9 QC) and there was no difference on the gas mileage.
