Fuel Injector Cleaning??
My 95 Ram with the 5.2 seems to be straining for gas on cold starts. After the truck is warmed up it accelerates fine, but when cold it really struggles to pick up speed. Also, when the truck is first started and I pull it out of the garage in reverse and put the transmission back in drive it will die. It fires right back up though. Recently I have put on new plugs, wires, cap & rotor, new convertor. I thought I could replace the fuel filter, but found out it is in the gas tank and connected to fuel pump. Before I go the fuel pump route I was thinking about having the fuel injectors cleaned. The local minit lube can do this for less than $50 they said. Has anyone else had this done and is it worth it? Any other options that I'm missing here.
you might try a higher concentration of BG 44K... mix 1 bottle with about 10 gallons in the tank and drive it till it's close to empty. see if this helps, for $50 bux I'd ask them how they do it. if they hook the injectors up to a machine, then yes, if they dump something in the tank, then no...
I took the TB off today and cleaned it up. I also took out the IAC(idle air control) I believe and the end of it was really dirty also. I got to looking in my dodge repair book and it talked about testing the IAC. It said to turn the ignition on and the IAC needle should move in or out. Mine did nothing so I assume its froze. Could this be whats holding the truck back?
Is the IAC the sensor plugged into the throttle body? My truck seems to idle a little rough when first fired. I'd like to clean this along with the throttle body tonight.

the IAC is a valve that is used to control the air flow needed to maintain the idle. if it's dirty or sticky, you'll have poor idle and or stalling. usually a cleaning is all it needs.
