Default My Moe's Performance fan shroud delete kit project

With changing to the e-fans I didn't want to use the stock overflow and washer bottles. I have been looking for replacement tanks for awhile. I came across a post on DT of a guy selling and e-fan with an overflow tank he got from Moe's. I decided to look on Moe's site and found the kit. It's actually made for 04-08 Rams. It has 2 aluminum tanks with a silicone hose for the overflow tank. The kit sells for $250 for a plain tank. Powder coat is another 50 bucks. I happened to find a guy selling a used set for $200 on DT. I tried talking him down but he was firm. I got to talking to him about his Mustang and figured ah what the hell. He was a fellow stang owner and had a Ram so I helped him out and took them off his hands.

Here is what I got

Now I wasn't sure if the washer pump was the same. I found out today that it fits fine with no leaks. However there is no hole for the low fluid sensor. I tried to remove mine to consider drilling the tank and installing it. I ended up breaking the stock tank and the sensor. (NOTE: for anybody wanting to use these tanks the newer tanks have a hole for the sensor. However the 03-05 has a different grommet then the 06-08 so I have no idea if ours will work)

The next issue is the brackets. The 04-08 rams have a different rad so the mounting holes are different. The washer fluids bracket is too short for the side it belongs on. The overflow tank's bracket has that bend in it so that just makes that wrong all together. I was gonna just buy enough stock to make 2 new brackets. my dad gave me the idea to take the straight piece off the washer tank and cut it a few inches shorter and use that for the overflow tank. The holes on that side of the rad are closer together so that idea works. I will have to also drill a hole for the other bolt.

For the washer tank I'm going to buy another piece of stock to make a straight bracket like was on it before but just longer to secure it with 2 bolts.

I will update this tomorrow hopefully with some pics of the bracket modifications. I figured I would share this little project and idea for others. Ever since the beginning I have said I wasn't using zip ties on the stock tanks. Figured I could give some ideas to others who would like to make their bay look cleaner or that are picky like me.

Those will look good once they're installed. I didn't know that these existed, but I also didn't research this as an option either. Thanks for the heads-up!

No problem ron. They're pretty pricy so I doubt many will get them. Just wanted to show everybody there is an option

I ended up getting the fans from summitt. I had some conversations with hutch and decided that was a better option. Also got a better relay kit through them
