The thing with the 3rd gen's is that everyone has them now and they all look the same. Someone either puts shiny rims on them or adds a push bar. With the 2nd gens I've seen a lot more originality and uniqueness.

Only 3rd gens with the plenum problems are the 02-03's with the magnum engines. If you're looking for an 04-06, you're gonna find either a 5.7 or a 4.7. No death flash or plenum gasket problems there. As for the trannys, it all depends on how the PO treated it. Biggest prob I've seen on the the 3rd gens is the LSD's grenading. That and the infamous "Hemi tick". But, the first reply was the best, go hang around the 3rd gen forum.

Besides the hemi is kind of a joke. It's not a true hemi anymore.

By definition, most modern engines are "Hemis". (Hemispherical heads)

one of the 3rd gens (i think 2004) had a wire that you could push out of the pcm pigtail that removed torque management and it was an instant boost in power for free.
just something to think about if you leave your 2nd gen out in the cold.
