Default running issues when cold

i have a 98 1500 5.2 ram ive been having this problem for a while now. first off ill go ahead and tell you what i have replaced...about a week ago i put i new fuel pump, and a new IAC valve on and the map sensor. still having the same problem though. but when i start up my truck everything is fine and dandy. after about 3 mins. ill get a loud hiss coming from my intake and my RPM's will just go crazy up and down (it kinda sounds like its camming) but it will do that until i rev up the motor then it will do it about 1 or 2 more times after that....it only happens when the motor is cold. but if i crank up cold and just go ahead and drive it down the road with out it messing up like that first, then it will be going fine then all of a sudden the truck will loose power and if i leave my foot on the accelerator it will make a sorta loud pop pop pop sounds coming from under the hood like a tin can. i have to floor the accelerator to get it to stop doing that...then when ever it stops doing it....it runs like a dream. ive had people tell me that it is an air leak somewhere but im not sure.....or my programmer sending too much air through the intake....or my cold air intake....does anyone have the same problem or know anyone that has? or even better....any suggestions?????? thanks alot for reading this!!!

Try something, take the super chips off and unhook your battery and let it sit for 5 mins or so. This well reset your pcm. Try running the truck without the super chip for a week and see what happens.

not sure if this could be it but could it be a bad plenum causing the loosing power, then just a vacuum line thats deattached for the sound.

Sounds like a defective IAC. But I would also get a Haynes if you don't have one and check the TPS for the hell of it.

Here's a good link to clean your IAC, hope this helps. Don't know, sounds like it could be a bad plenum? I've been having some similar issues trying to figure the works out myself.https://dodgeforum.com/forum/dodge-r...n-the-iac.html

its not the CAI and i doubt its an "air leak," if it was a vacuum leak (like the plenum) then you would have a pretty bad loss of power. haynes tells how to check the tps and the iac. i would start there.

are you getting a check engine light when it does this?

nah i dont ever get a engine light, but my air bag light stays on though but i know thats the clock spring though...but i also have the wild vents problem and ive checked for leaks but i guess i need to check out under the dash but thanks everyone for your ideas! but every sensor around my intake has been replaced. im about to go outside any take my programmer off and run stock for a while and see what that does...and i also have i very bad lack of power...its kinda annoying, but then again i have stock gearing with 33's so i guess that would be that issue.
