Default What parts transfer over

In my quest to transform my truck from a 318 to a 360 I have a found a brand new crate 360 motor long block. I know the injectors are different but will all the accessories, intake manifold, throttle body etc transfer over from the 318 to the 360. What else won't tranfer I think this will be the most economical.

The pcm will have to be changed or flashed. And the injectors are the same. You'll also need the flexplate and harmonic balancer from a 360.

I thought I read that the 318 injectors wouldn't work as well as 360 ones? Will the manifold itself work?

Also:

Where can I get my PCM flashed I knew about it but didn't know where.

I forgot about the balancer knew about the flexplate.

The flexplate i checked on today has a $120 core charge. I wonder if they will take the flexplate off my 318 as a core even though they are different.

The intakes are the same, and any parts store you look for injectors, the #s for both are the same. And I'm not sot sure on this, but, IIRC make sure the motor is for an auto trans. I think the cranks are different.

I have a manual trans and if I read right with the magnum engines the cranks will accept a pilot bearing so I you can use a manual or auto trans with them.

OK, I thought so,must have been thinking of some other motor. Maybe the Explorer motor I just swapped for someone. Anyway, the dealer can flash the PCM.

Cool thanks for all the info, so I just take my PCM in and tell them what I did and they can flash it? Is there a perfomance company I can send it to and maybe get a little more power?

if i remember right the 318 has a smaller throttle body giving you less power if you out it on your 360

I don't think you can take the pcm only to the dealer, you'll have to get the whole truck there after you are done. But someone may chime in about sending it somewhere.

I believe the TB's are the same also. It's just companies like fastman bore them larger for more performance.
