Haha, I was pretty sure that's what I was thinking about... been having a rough week. Thanks for the quotations on compartment. It made me laugh.

Quoted from a Chrysler TSB:

At ambient temperatures of -20 C ( -5 F) or below, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) will electronically inhibit the transmission from shifting into overdrive. This will protect the transmission from damage if the transmission fluid begins to freeze.

i would think the 15 mile drive would have heated it up enough though. especially if you have the stock transmission cooler, that thing has some heat transfer from the coolant in the radiator going on.

Lol i get worse file mileage than i do when i have a 4th gear. Our hwy is 70 all the way to town and i also run fire calls so im sure running at 3500-4000K rpm isn't healthy for the engine.

3500 - 4000 RPM is good for long peroids of time can be bad, I wouldnt want to do that for more than 15 miles, but nearly frozen transmission fluid isnt good either. Maybe getting some heaters for your garage (If you have one), or stick a flat piece of canvas or cardboard over half the radiator like they do on the big trucks.
