Good to know.

A mechanic I know told me to throw out the champion wires I have and go with the mopar wires, but I guess that wont solve my problem!

Let me know if you find a solution to this problem as it relates to mine a great deal!

Even with MOPAR wires, they can still misfire. #5 and #7 are one issue, while #4 and #6 are the other. The routing is very specific along with the calling out of using Convolute (plastic wire covering).

I had a low speed/low load misfire in my truck, simply securing the coil wire away from anything metal solved the problem. And this is with new wires.

Well, I have replaced all of the wires and ensured that they are not touching creating a cross-fire. Started the truck up and viola, it was fixed. THat is until I took it down the road. It is like the truck ran fine for about a mile, then it began the misfiring again. I have bought another cap and rotor and am going to replace those Friday. When I pull the cap and rotor, I am going to see if I can check the camshaft sensor as well.

Could it be anything else??

Yes, you're not diagnosing the problem but are taking the "spend money approach". First, the wires have to be routed *properly*, per the TSB, and that includes their being covered in convolute. Second, you really need to take the time to inspect the parts you have, and have replaced, to see if there are ANY differences in any of them.

You have to attack the problem in steps and eliminate each piece of the puzzle.

its possible, because the CAP has 9 wires going to it, that maybe one of them is not "snapped" down all the way?

I wish I had you guys here in town with me... I was driving to get my son, and low and behold, the check CEL came on. Like a blessing. Anyway, the codes that came up were random misfire and misfires on cylinders 2 and 7.

I have been hoping that CEL would come on for three days now. Does this change anything?

And thanks for all of the help thus far.

Yeah, it means now the PCM nows and is probably adjusting the timing and air/fuel to try to fix the problem.

So with my sputter / misfire, it only happens when youre actually driving it. I tried revving it a little tonight in neutral, and it went through the rpms fine...
